Negotiations to change telecommunications operator Telia have ended. The company said it would reduce about 500 positions in Finland based on negotiated changes and other measures such as store transfers. It is estimated that approximately 45 new positions will be opened.
The change negotiations are related to a change program that Telia started in September. There are 3,149 tasks involved in negotiations.
The goal of this change program is to update Telia's operating model and cut costs. At the same time, responsibility will be transferred from Telia group operations to Finnish business organizations. Around 160 positions from parent company Telia Company will be transferred to Finnish state company Telia Finland.
Telia Finland CEO Heli Partanen justified the changes, saying they were necessary to create a faster, simpler and more efficient Telia.
– We want to make sure that we grow profitably, that we can invest in Finland and that we continue to improve our customer satisfaction, says Partanen in the newsletter.
These changes will take effect from the beginning of December.
