Republican Donald Trump won 15 states in the US presidential election, while Democrat Kamala Harris won 7 states and the capital Washington, according to the company Edison Research, which collaborated with Reuters.
However, the race still does not have a clear result. It is unlikely a winner will be announced in key states in the coming hours, leading American media warned.
The first projected results announced offered no surprises, and the race is expected to take place in seven states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. As of 8:30 p.m. Chicago time, polls had closed in 41 states and Washington, DC.
Trump currently leads with 156 electoral votes compared to Harris' 55 votes.
