Piotr Serafin, EU commissioner. “Budgets must unite, not divide”

The European Parliament's fiscal and budgetary control committee supported the candidacy of Piotr Serafin for the position of budget commissioner on Thursday, Onet reported. The decision came after Serafin's three-hour hearing in the European Parliament, where he answered questions from members of the European Parliament regarding EU finances and the EU budget.

The information that Piotr Serafin will become the new budget commissioner was also announced by the European People's Party on its official account.

Piotr Serafin for the position of Budget Commissioner was supported on Thursday in the European Parliament by the groups of the European People's Party (EPP), Socialists and Democrats (S&D), European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), Renew Europe and the Green Party.

A final vote on the composition of the European Commission, following hearings, is scheduled for the end of November.
