Nut growers have asked the state government to take action to regulate marketing as their harvest is near, so documents are being issued to support La Laguna de Durango nut growers.

Joel Delgadillo Delgadillo, Undersecretary of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development (SAGDR) of the Laguna region, reported that the permit will not cost anything and in addition to knowing the exact amount of nuts to be sold. a complete overview of the actual surface area of ​​walnut plantations.

“Some producers have asked to control the distribution of walnuts, because there is also theft of the product there, and we do not want those who take the walnuts for sale to not have a document that accredits them as producers.” he explained.

In this sense, he said that an inspection will be established to regulate the distribution of nuts in the region, and he invited all producers who are dedicated to this activity to come to the Deputy Secretariat of the SAGDR, located in the Government House of the State of Durango, in the city of Gómez Palacio, because in the next few days the issuance of licenses will begin, which will be completely free and will serve as marketing support.

The official said about 5,000 to 6,000 hectares of walnut trees are registered and thanks to these actions, there will be an accurate record besides knowing how many are legally established, how many are in process, how many. in production, and how many of these producers irrigate their walnut trees with water from dams or pumping, among other important data.

Delgadillo Delgadillo mentioned that the walnut producers of the village of Lerdo had a meeting where they asked for support in security matters, and the relevant deputy secretary of state offered to prepare the permit for them free of charge so that they would be protected, so hand in hand. with them authenticate each one that they are able to identify themselves as a walnut tree from La Laguna.
