Francisco Cabezas has been the head of the Sports section of El Periódico since June 2023. Previously, he worked at the newspaper El Mundo, where he was author of the history of Barcelona Football Club matches since 2004. Graduated in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he was a special envoy at Paris 2024 OlympicsHe Qatar Football World Cup (2022) and it Russia Football World Cup (2018). Additionally, it includes three Euro Cups (Poland and Ukraine 2012, France 2015, multi-venue with final in London in 2020) and five Champions League finals (Paris 2006, Rome 2009, London 2011, Berlin 2015 and Istanbul 2023). He has also covered major events in other disciplines such as the 2013 Swimming World Cup in Barcelona or the 2014 Basketball World Cup in Spain.
In 2017 he was awarded the award award for the best journalistic work of the year by Panenka magazine.
