Toyota Indiana plant President Leah Curry to retire

Leah Curry will retire this month as president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana after a 26-year career with the automaker and will be succeeded by one of her vice presidents, Toyota Motor North America said.

Tim Hollander, 52, vice president of manufacturing at the assembly plant, will be her successor. Toyota Indiana assembles the Toyota Sienna minivan, Highlander and Grand Highlander three-row crossovers and the Lexus TX three-row crossover.

Curry, 62, was named one of Automotive News’ 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry twice, most recently in 2020. She started working at the Toyota plant in Princeton, Ind., in 1997 as a team member and soon moved into management, where she met Susan Elkington, now Toyota’s senior vice president for electric vehicle supply. The two became fast friends and mentors to one another, helping guide each other’s careers.

Curry said her last day with Toyota will be March 29. In the interim, she will be in a supporting role with some of the automaker’s other manufacturing plants and suppliers.
