Emmerdale viewers were rocked when Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) shot Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) father after he kidnapped Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and tied him up in a warehouse.
Midway through the ordeal, Chloe decided to help Mack escape from her dad’s Damon ‘Harry’ Harris (Robert Beck) grip.
Chloe’s dad raised his gun and told Chloe to move out of the way, but Charity launched at him and before long they were fighting for the gun.
During the wrestle, the gun went off and it soon became clear Charity had pulled the trigger.
Express.co.uk has shared some major spoilers for the New Year in the wake of Damon’s death.
Charity’s riddled with guilt
In upcoming scenes, DS Jones confirms Damon’s death has been ruled accidental.
While Mack is relieved, Charity is really struggling to come to terms with the ordeal, knowing she is responsible for his death.
She tries to hide it from Mack and her loved ones – but will it all get too difficult for her in scenes yet to air?
Joyride turns to misery
In scenes yet to air, Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling), Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) and Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) take a joy ride in Wendy Taylor’s (Susan Cookson) car.
Angelica and Heath start flirting in the car and encourage Cathy to speed up.
Bob starts panicking when he realises Wendy’s car is missing and he soon finds out about Cathy and Heath taking the vehicle.
Meanwhile, Heath becomes impatient as Cathy continues to speed up, but a near miss with another car does not affect her resoluteness as she puts her foot down.
Family torn apart over affair
Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) and Tracy Metcalfe’s (Amy Walsh) affair was exposed by Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) on the ITV soap over the festive period.
Will Tracy come clean to her husband Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) about the affair, or will she beg Moira to keep it a secret?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
