This Morning’s Alison Hammond is reported to have rejected a pay rise from ITV bosses in a bid to replace Holly Willoughby and present the morning chatshow four times a week. Since Holly left in October 2024, there has been an array of different presenters fronting the show in replace of Holly.
Alison usually hosts the show on Friday mornings alongside Dermot O’Leary and recently scored a presenting job on Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off. However, it has been claimed that Alison refused to take over from Holly despite being “happy” in her role on the ITV show.
An ITV source told the Mirror: “Alison has long been a favourite with bosses. She’s very popular with viewers and celebrities often request her when they appear on the sofa.
“She’s happy to fill in but has politely declined the job more than once.”
Express.co.uk has contacted ITV and Alison’s representatives for a comment.
Big Brother’s Emma Willis recently presented the show and became a huge hit with viewers with many begging for Emma to be made a permanent fixture on the show.
She swiftly became bookmakers’ favourite to replace Holly Ladbrokes giving her odds of 11/10 to claim the coveted presenting role full-time.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Emma Willis made a major impact on This Morning today and after instantly sparking a flurry of bets, she is the new favourite to replace Holly Willoughby.”
Of course, Alison had odds of 2/1, with Josie Gibson being in the running at 5/2 /1, Rochelle Humes, 6/1, Kate Garraway, 10/1, and Storm Huntley, 14/1, while Abbey Clancy and Angela Scanlon are tied at 16/1.
Rylan Clark was also tipped to be bookmakers favourite to be the permanent host to replace Phillip Schofield, as William Hill revealed his odds of 5/4.
ITV bosses have been keen to hire two permanent duo hosts for This Morning from Monday to Thursday rather than continuing to have different presenters each week.
Cat Deeley caused a stir when she presented the show with many loving her dynamic with Ryla, but she is also said to have turned down the role.
She decided to return to America to host So You Think You Can Dance, despite fans hailing her as “brilliant”, “amazing” and “a breath of fresh air”.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
