Bargain Hunt’s Christina Trevanion’s auction house and life away from cameras

Bargain Hunt star Christina Trevanion is one of the BBC show’s regular presenters and her extensive knowledge of antiques and fine art has been invaluable.

When she is not busy filming, Christina is extremely busy running her own auction house, based in Whitchurch, Shropshire.

She and her staff host monthly auctions of fine art, antiques and collectables. Christina’s role is managing partner, auctioneer and valuer, after first opening the business in 2014.

She went on to become the sole owner four years later, when she bought the shares of her former business partner, Aaron Dean.

On social media, Christina updated fans with the latest from her auction house as she showcased some stunning jewellery.

Sharing a photo of a diamond bracelet, she announced a new April fine art and antique auction. Included is an exquisite Art Deco diamond set bracelet, circa 1920.

She explained: “Provence: Princess Irena Obolensky (1917-1996) thence by descent, purchased by the current owner at Christie’s 2005 Important Jewellery Auction, lot 205.”

The two-day auction will start on Wednesday, April 24 and continue on Thursday, April 25.

Public viewing for the auction will be held on Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23 from 9.30am until 5pm.

Speaking about her passion for her business, she said: “I have been delighted to welcome lots of friendly new faces to Trevanion and Dean.

“We are fully committed to continuing to be able to offer the people of Shropshire, Cheshire, Wales and the surrounding area the high levels of customer service they expect from their local auction house, while providing them with an international platform on which to offer their treasured possessions.”
