Bargain Hunt’s Izzie Balmer leaves fans gobsmacked with ‘out of this world’ bonus buy

Bargain Hunt host Danny Sebastian was left in disbelief after Izzie Balmer made show history with a bonus. The 34-year-old BBC antiques expert was set a task to find the red team something “sparkly” as they took a shining to dazzling items on their quest.

After heading into minus numbers during the auction, they needed a mighty save. With a huge weight on her shoulders, Izzie was quick off the mark and made them a staggering profit.

Izzie rushed to the sellers’ stalls and bagged herself an incredible £1 buy which left fans in disbelief. She managed to pick up a stunning cat broach which she said may even be worth a small fortune if it is “real silver”.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one user wrote: “That cat got a 2500% return”. While another wrote, “Wow out of this world.”

However, they were quick to slam the host, branding him an “idiot” after his remarks. Danny was heard saying to the team that it was a “good choice”, after not showing much reaction at first.

One person penned: “Of course it was a good choice Danny you idiot. The bonus buy was only £1”.

However, later when it sold for £26 making a solid £25 profit the BBC star was seen jumping for joy and congratulated Izzie on her huge triumph.

This helped the red team which was made up of Emilo and Anita get out of sticky water as they were on a downward spiral.

They chose a tea set which came at a hefty price tag of £75 which sold for £25 less in the auction. While their Japanese vases which the duo had high hopes for went for £28 after paying £35.

Emilio and Anita did have a small victory as they bought a battered record player for £6 and made a decent £30 return.

This meant that they won at minus £17. But compared to their opponents they stole the show as the red team ran into a deficit of £68.

Brian and Kevin, who represented the blue team, had high hopes and were heard saying that they were “Bargain Hunt brothers looking for quality”.

However, they only made one profit on their continental service dish, which got them an extra £7.

Bargain Hunt airs on BBC and Iplayer at 12.30 pm on weekdays.
