BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent warns co-star ‘you’re in trouble’ as she squirms over segment

BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent was left squirming over co-star Jon Kay repeatedly saying “deep dive” during a segment on Monday’s show and warned he will be in trouble. The pair had just concluded their breakdown of what was still to come on the show, which included an item about deep sea mining.

When the camera returned back onto them in the studio, Jon found the phrase “a deep dive” humorous and began to repeat the phrase much to Sally’s dismay. Looking unimpressed, she said to him: “Oh, don’t say that.”

As he continued to be a wind up however, she added: “That’s one of the those phrases you’re not allowed to say.” Refusing to stop, he jokingly continued: “Let’s have a deep dive to our colleagues around the UK getting the news and travel where you are, see you in a moment.”

In response to Jon’s moment, Sally then warned him: “You’re in trouble now,” as the lens faded out to the next segment. Moments later, the presenting duo introduced the mining item, which featured the show’s climate editor Justin Rowlatt.

During the discussion, Sally was left cringing again after Justin gave the pair a polymetallic nodule to hold as he broke down the facts. While Jon took an interest holding the concretion, his co-star wasn’t quite so keen which Justin pointed out.
