Amy Dowden was rushed to hospital this week as doctors soon discovered there was a blood clot on the professional dancer’s lungs.
Taking to her Instagram Stories today, the 33-year-old announced she has since returned home as she detailed her health ordeal, in view of 631,000 followers, where she delivered the sad news.
The Strictly Come Dancing star began: “Hello everyone. Unfortunately, I’ve had another nightmare this week. It just seems to be never-ending. I was rushed into hospital on Monday and it came to our knowledge on Tuesday that I’ve got another blood clot on my lung.
“I know that they were really worried the clot was travelling to my heart or affecting my heart. Lucky enough it’s not.”
Amy showed puncture marks on her wrist and hands and said she’d had drips “everywhere”.
She called the development a “shock” and is admittedly “gutted” about being admitted to the hospital and Amy explained how she now needs painful blood-thinning injections in her stomach for the foreseeable future.
The dancer continued: “I was on blood thinners anyway due to the blood clots in my arm. I’ve still got a blood clot in my arm. But now I’m taking tablets twice a day.
“I’m now on the blood thinning injections. I’ve had them before and they are not nice. I had them when I was in hospital for my Crohn’s operation. They’re just really sore in the stomach.
