Tonight’s episode of The Apprentice has been branded the “worst ever” by some fans of the BBC show. It comes as Lord Alan Sugar was left exasperated following a cringe-inducing shopping channel task, which saw both teams sweating under the bright lights.
The challenge saw both groups select several items to sell live on a shopping channel, with other members of the team feeding information into their ears. While Tre’s team was victorious following some high sales figures, Raj’s was left in hot water for failing to convince viewers to buy.
While things looked uncertain fan favourite Flo, who was criticised for dropping the prices, it was ultimately Phil who faced the wrath of his fellow team members in the boardroom, as it was pointed out that he had lost every single task so far.
Lord Sugar was also particularly unimpressed with Maura and Raj’s sales technique that “scared off” potential customers, while he praised Paul for his great performance on the task. When the candidates faced their final showdown in the boardroom, Paul was sent back to the house, while team leader Raj and fellow saleswoman Maura were sent packing in a dramatic double firing.
Meanwhile, much to the astonishment of many viewers, Phil was allowed to stay in the process on the condition that he project managed the next task and won. Fans took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on the “chaotic” episode.
“This has to be the worst episode of the series has to be a double firing minimum,” one viewer said.
“This might be the worst episode of The Apprentice of all time,” another person penned with laughing emojis.
“Both teams deserve to be fired,” a third suggested, while another lamented: “The second-hand embarrassment.” (sic)
“Sorry these teams are horrific just car crashes,” one more person said, while yet another quipped: “This was really giving unrehearsed year 9 GCSE drama performance.”
While a disappointed viewer complained: “I thought we were going to get a second EVER triple firing! Gutted.” (sic)
The Apprentice continues next Thursday at 9pm on BBC one and BBC iPlayer.
