F1 boss Christian Horner has broken his silence in an attempt to finally end the sexting scandal he was cleared of last week. In a statement, he praised his “phenomenally supportive” wife Geri Horner and said he was “very fortunate” to have “a beautiful family”. He shared: “It’s obviously been a very trying period. I’m married and have three children.
“When that intrusion includes your children and the scrutiny that is placed on my marriage, I’m very fortunate that I have a beautiful family and a very supportive wife. And I’m the only one that has been named in this.
“It’s very challenging, because when there’s children involved, when there’s families, parents involved, it’s not pretty. It is time now to focus on why we are here, which is to go Formula One racing.”
Red Bull’s Christian faced allegations of inappropriate and controlling behaviour by a female colleague, which he strongly denied. After he was cleared following an internal investigation, a spokesperson for the company said: “Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.”
Christian will remain in his role as team principal and chief executive of Red Bull F1.
