Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ Lauren’s kidnapper after suspect ‘goes missing’

Coronation Street fans believe they have worked out who kidnapped Lauren after a huge clue. Lauren, played by Cait Fitton, mysteriously disappeared from the Cobbles months ago and is now presumed dead.

Her sudden exit came shortly after she was shown to have large bruises across her shoulder, suggesting she had been physically abused by someone. In their search for Lauren, police came across forensic evidence in Lauren’s flat which was consistent with a violent assault.

Roy Cropper (David Neilson), the last person to see Lauren alive before she vanished, has now been charged with her murder. But viewers are certain the real suspect is another familiar face living in Weatherfield, however, they haven’t been seen in a while.

Sharing their suspicious thoughts about Joel Deering (Calum Lill) online, one wrote: “Notice how Joel has disappeared and so has Lauren? #corrie.” Another speculated: “Is there a possible link to Lauren’s disappearance with Joel?”

Echoing this, a third commented: “I’m starting to side with everyone who accused Joel of being Lauren’s secret boyfriend. 1. We haven’t seen him since she went missing. 2. The day Dee-Dee dumped him was the same day Lauren was covered in bruises. 3. Solicitor so knows how to cover up a crime scene. 4. He’s a Solicitor so has a lot of money- one of the few things we do know about the secret bf. 5. Dee-Dee is abstaining until marriage, which would explain his connection to Lauren. I also do not believe his story about that other lady being his wife. #corrie.”

A fourth penned: “I thought Joel was Lauren’s secret man but he seems to have disappeared #Corrie…” Meanwhile, someone else declared: “My theory is Joel killed Lauren on @itvcorrie because he was secretly seeing her #Corrie #WhoKilledLauren.”

During Friday’s instalment (April 12) of the ITV soap, Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) reveals that Roy has been officially charged with Lauren’s murder.

Next week, the CPS barrister paints Roy as a murderer with a violent past and lists his crimes, leaving the café owner convinced he is going to prison. Dee-Dee puts forward her case and urges the Judge to grant Roy bail, but the application is refused.
