Dancing on Ice pro reveals ‘surreal’ stand-out moment from series that left him ‘nervous’

After another series of Dancing on Ice wrapped earlier this month, professional skater Colin Grafton has opened up about his stand-out moment from this season. The 32-year-old joined the ITV show last year and ended up making it all the way to the final with celebrity partner The Vivienne.

This series he was partnered with Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney before they exited the competition in week three. When asked what his stand-out moment was, Colin exclusively told Express.co.uk: “This is a tough one, as there were so many good moments this year.

“As it was the 40th anniversary of Torvill and Dean’s Olympic win to Bolero, we had the honour to do a Bolero tribute piece for them as they watched on.

“That was pretty surreal, and I was actually very nervous to be honest. I also enjoyed every performance I skated with Claire, having her sing live was amazing.

“Dan Whiston also had an amazing flying routine with us pros, which was really exciting,” the figure skater, who previously opened up about his sexuality, explained.

The US-native also broke down his most entertaining moment from this series, which was a performance with the winner Ryan Thomas.

He continued: “I had an absolute BLAST skating Ryan’s flying routine with Amani and Brendyn.

“We were able to fully get into character, show a cheeky side, and I think we all really enjoyed it, so I would personally say that it was pretty entertaining!”

After weeks of tough competition, Ryan and his professional partner Amani Fancy won the ITV show and beat fellow finalists Miles Nazaire and Adele Roberts.

The elated pair were awarded the coveted Dancing on Ice trophy as the audience cheered for them and they were hugged by everyone including hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern.

Discussing Ryan and Amani’s win, Colin, who said being single on the show is easier to navigate, expressed: “What a joy it was to see Ryan and Amani win the Dancing On Ice title this year. I genuinely could not be more pleased for them both.

“Ryan improved so much throughout the series, and to watch the growth of both Ryan and also Amani as a team was something special to see.

“I had the privilege of being a part of a few of their routines, including the final showcase, and we had an absolute blast doing so.”
