During Thursday night’s episode of Emmerdale, Tom King (played by James Chase) trashed his own home in a blind rage over his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper).
Early on in the instalment, the controlling husband got a text from Belle who told him she’d be home late as she had to stay at work for longer that night.
However, when Tom’s tracker app revealed she was in a moving car, he was left furious and wanted to know where she was heading without him.
She felt as though she couldn’t tell Tom she was at the Hide with a pal in fear of his reaction, but he ended up walking into the venue to her surprise.
He tried not to let his passive aggression show and pretended to act normal about Belle enjoying a drink with a friend, but under the surface he was livid.
Emmerdale’s Tom King took his coercive behaviour to an entirely new level during tonight’s hour-long instalment of the popular soap.
When he headed home, he lost control of his emotions and ended up trashing the place in anger, leaving a trail of destruction behind.
Later on, he lied to Belle and told her their home had been raided by burglars which left her understandably terrified.
At The Woolpack, Belle told her friend Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) that the robbers had taken her engagement ring from her home.
Tom, who was with the pair at the local pub, told Belle he’d called the police and given them a crime reference number, adding: “They did say there had been a spate of robberies in the area.”
Viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on Tom’s manipulative behaviour and lies, with some suggesting he’s killed by Belle’s relative Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) who is the village hard man.
Nadine penned: “I hope vile Tom is caught out soon his emotional abuse of Belle is so upsetting, Cain will bury him when the truth comes out. Ella is another odd one she is up to something #Emmerdale.”
A second wrote: “Cain needs to find out about Tom ffs #Emmerdale.”
Mike noted: “Tom really doesn’t know who he’s messing about with her. He might think it’s just a little timid Belle. When the Dingles find out they will bury him… Cain, Aaron, Charity, and Chas to name a few. The guy’s thick as s**t. #Emmerdale.”
SG penned: “I wouldn’t be going home if I was Belle. Id just send Cain for my bags #Emmerdale.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
