Fern Britton to make ‘huge television comeback’ in ‘ultimate revenge’ on Phillip Schofield

After making it to the final of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother, Fern Britton is reportedly planning a big TV comeback in a bid to kickstart her television career once again.

The 66-year-old was a staple of our lives when she hosted This Morning for a decade from 1999 to 2009 with former co-host Phillip Schofield. The former pals are said to have fallen out while presenting the ITV show together, leading Fern to quit the show in 2009 after reports of pay disparity.

Although the two have never explained why they fell out, they’ve both made digs at one another throughout the years in the media. A source told Bella magazine: “She’s desperate to do her own chat show and is already in talks with TV networks.

“Celebrity Big Brother has done her the world of good. The public forgot how likeable she is, but the show has given her that new lease of life.

“It’s no secret she was treated badly before, and it put her off doing TV again, but now she feels ready to be back on screen. She’s warm, caring and fun – all things TV producers look for in a host. Now Phillip isnt in the picture any more, she can get her ultimate revenge and be a success on TV once again!”

Express.co.uk have contacted Fern’s representative for comment.

After departing This Morning in 2009, Fern was replaced by Holly Willoughby, who ended up fronting the show until her own departure last year.

In his 2020 autobiography, Life is What You Make it, Phillip, 62, appeared to address his feud with Fern and what led up to it.

He divulged that the pair argued over content on the show and was left “stunned” when she accused him of “meddling”.

He wrote in the book: “I walked back into the make-up room and calmly said: ‘Please don’t do that to me again’.

“I think, for whatever reason, that was the point that Fern decided she didn’t want to do This Morning anymore.”

Fern enjoyed a three-week stay in the Celebrity Big Brother house with the likes of Louis Walsh, Levi Roots and guest Sharon Osbourne.

She was the only female to make it to the final, ending up in fifth place, with David Potts going on to win the series.
