How to watch Outlander Season 7 Part 2 in the UK after Lionsgate+ closed down

Outlander season seven, part two, is on the horizon, but UK fans have been living in uncertainty over how they will be able to watch the new episodes.

It was announced in 2023 that Lionsgate+ UK, formerly Starzplay, would shut down with the American version Starz still running.

Lionsgate+ was the home of massively popular shows such as The Great, Godfather of Harlem, the Power franchise and, of course, Outlander.

The streamer was shut down at the end of February with customers no longer having access to the website or its content via the app.

But there was a light at the end of the tunnel when it came out that Lionsgate+ customers would still be able to watch these shows via Prime Video Channels which is a hub so customers can purchase various streamers without the need for multiple subscriptions.

Those who already subscribed directly to Lionsgate+ UK had to sign up again for the service but through Amazon.

This was welcomed news, however, Prime Video Channels made it clear in a tweet that it wasn’t a permanent solution, stating that fans would get access for “a bit longer”.

It has been revealed that Amazon has now struck up a deal with Lionsgate+ to ensure fans are still able to watch their favourite shows.

The partnership sees that a number of high profile programmes on Lionsgate and Starz will be available to watch via the Amazon streamer MGM+.

Lionsgate_ UK subscribers who signed up via Prime Video Channels in the UK are going to get access to MGM shows, which will include Outlander, this month.

In May, the MGM service is then going to be renamed MGM+ in the UK to align with the streamer’s rebranding in Europe, America and Latin America.

According to Amazon, MGM+ is one of the most subscribed Prime Video Channels globally and in the US, was formerly known as Epix.

It hasn’t been made clear exactly when the switch from Lionsgate+ to MGM will be made on Prime Video Channels but it will be sometime this month.

In a statement, MGM+’s global general manager Josh McIvor said: “The expansion of MGM+ in the United Kingdom further cements Amazon’s commitment to invest in and grow the MGM+ channel internationally, while enhancing the content offering available to subscribers.”

While MGM+ international head Michael Katzer commented: “The addition of premium first-run TV franchises such as Outlander and Power, along with many blockbuster hit movies, will allow MGM+ to continue its evolution as a premium international streaming service.”

Outlander will be available to watch on MGM via Prime Video Channels.
