Jamie Lynn Spears has seemingly opted not to follow two of her I’m A Celebrity campmates on Instagram, despite subscribing to the pages of the others. Former Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage, whose controversial politics have divided the nation, and YouTube influencer Nella Rose, who got into a major spat with Fred Sirieix on the show, are both absent from Jamie Lynn’s follower list.
It comes after she returned to Instagram yesterday after quitting the jungle on “medical grounds”, and wrote a gushing message about some of her co-stars.
“I can’t wait to share with y’all everything about this once in a lifetime experience,” she began. “I don’t even know where to start when trying to describe what an incredibly special time and place I had with some of the absolute best humans I have ever met and consider family now.”
She continued: “THANK YALL for welcoming me into your living rooms night after night, and for supporting me through all the highs and lows.” The 32-year-old then clarified that she was “grateful” for the show and “all of the wonderful people part of it!”
She told her 2.2 million followers that she’d be taking some time for “recovery” after reuniting with her family, and said she was “looking forward to sharing all about my journey on @imacelebrity with everyone”. The actress and younger sister of songstress Britney Spears signed off with an affectionate cry of “LOVE YALLLL.”(sic)
Despite the upbeat-sounding message, she had appeared desperate in earlier scenes screened on the show, when she’d confided in Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson that she felt she had to leave.
Pouring her heart out to the star, who is dating Strictly’s Zara McDermott, she told him: “I hate it here, this is where people go to have the worst days of their lives.” She added: “Dear God, please help me to make it. I think I’ve got to leave.”
The Netflix star, whose book Things I Should Have Said was released last year, also seemed miserable on another memorable occasion when she was serenaded by JLS star Marvin Humes and First Dates’ Fred Sirieix.
Despite the pair putting on an impromptu show to cheer her up, singing a Mario song for her and banging a drum, Jamie Lynn struggled to raise a smile.
Sam Thompson also offered to rock her to sleep in her hammock after she had an emotional outburst, and tried to raise her morale by telling her he didn’t think she’d leave.
However, Jamie Lynn took offence, telling him: “No, because you said I cried wolf. I don’t cry wolf – I mean it every time I want to leave.”
I’m A Celebrity announced her exit on Wednesday afternoon, just before the point when her two young children would have been among the cast members’ friends and family flying into Brisbane.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the show described her as a “fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities” – but so far, she’s still yet to follow Nigel or Nella online.
