Coleen Nolan admitted she feels “sorry” for new colleagues on the show saying it can be a “daunting” experience.
The 59-year-old revealed in a recent interview that former co-stars have joined the Loose Women panel but only lasted a few weeks.
Speaking to Women’s Own magazine earlier this month, the ITV favourite admitted joining the show is not an easy process for all panellists.
“I always feel really sorry for them because it’s daunting,” Coleen told the publication. “You walk in there and you might have three panellists who’ve been there for 20-odd years, me included.”
She continued: “You walk in and the Loose Women who have been there for years are sitting there and all the production crew. So we always try to overcompensate and welcome them because you want them to feel at home.
“Some come in and last a few weeks and actually, they think, ‘Oh, it’s not for me,’ and they go on and do other things.”
Her comments come as the panellists will mark their 25th anniversary in September but with an ever growing show line up many of the show’s stars have been choosing to focus on other projects which have pulled them away from filming commitments.
There have been dozens of full-time panellists over the years, from Jane McDonald and Jamelia to Vicky Pattison and Lisa Riley. Other colleagues who have left the ITV programme include Saira Khan, Denise Van Outen, Katie Price and many more.
The current panel includes Jane Moore, Nadia Sawalha, Coleen Nolan, Denise Welch, Janet Street-Porter, Linda Robson, Gloria Hunniford, Katie Piper, Stacey Solomon, Brenda Edwards, Kéllé Bryan, Judi Love, Frankie Bridge, Ruth Langsford and Christine Lampard.
Speaking about her future on the programme Coleen admitted she had no plans to leave but is open about securing other television work.
She remarked: “I absolutely adore Loose Women, it’s my second home. So I wouldn’t like to lose Loose Women because I love it, but I’m open to anything, TV-wise.”
Coleen became a regular panellist on ITV’s Loose Women. She has been with the series on and off for the last 20 years. She left Loose Women on 28 July 2011 only to return in 2013 as a regular panellist.
Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm
