Jeremy Clarkson mocks ‘disastrous turnout’ at James Blunt gig in empty venue quip

Jeremy Clarkson left fans in hysterics as he took a cheeky dig at the pop star.

The Grand Tour presenter attended James Blunt’s concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Wednesday just hours before he marked his birthday milestone.

Before the show started, Jeremy uploaded a photograph onto the social media platform Instagram of the venue with an auditorium of empty seats.

The 64 year old captioned the post: “Disastrous turnout for @jamesblunt this evening.”

His 7.9 million followers rushed to comment on the photo as one quipped: “Goodbye my audience… goodbye my friends.”

A second wrote: “I saw James Blunt live on tour. Awesome performance great songs, voice and massive stage presence. Amazing gig.” A third quizzed: “Does that mean he’s not coming on then!?”

His girlfriend Lisa Hogan quickly pointed out: “You’re keen @jamesblunt not on for another 90 mins.”

The Clarkson’s Farm presenter seemingly turned up at the venue hours before the gig was due to start.

In a follow-up post, Jeremy looked to be having a great time at the concert as he uploaded a video of James on stage performing to a sold-out crowd, which he captioned: “Noddy Blunt.”

The former Top Gear presenter has since been inundated with messages as his partner led the star’s birthday tributes.

Taking to the picture-sharing site Lisa shared a photo of her beau in front of her car, which read: “Happy Birthday, Yeremy.” She captioned the post: “64”

His co-star James May took to X, formerly Twitter, and penned: “On this day in 1960, the Enlightenment was brought to a close with the birth of @JeremyClarkson [birthday cake].”

The Grand Tour star is set to release the latest season of Prime Video’s Clarkson’s Farm on Friday, May 3, following the success of the first two seasons.
