Liam Payne’s ex-fiancée Maya Henry pens book about ‘trauma’ and ‘pain’ after split

Liam Payne’s ex-girlfriend, Maya Henry, has sparked speculation among fans that she may be hinting at their past relationship in her new book, which comes with a warning about content related to abuse.

Fans of Maya are eager to see if she reveals anything about her time with One Direction star Liam.

Maya shared a mysterious post on Instagram that led fans to worry about Liam’s part in “a period in [Maya’s] life filled with a lot of pain.

She wrote that “2020 was a dark and scary time for all of us,” referring to the lockdown and the COVID-19 pandemic, but she chose to keep a diary which has now turned into a published book.

She wrote: “I’m very nervous to share a project that was once my most personal outlet of joy and freedom – a story I never intended to share.

“I hope that by doing so, anyone out there experiencing similar trauma and hardships as my main character will feel less alone.”

Alongside a picture of the book’s cover, Maya gave a content warning to fans who might read it.

The list of potential triggers included “abuse, violence, self-harm, drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, and abortion.”

Liam has openly discussed his battles with alcohol abuse.

The book’s cover added to the suspicion that Liam was the inspiration for a character. It showed a musician with lots of tattoos, just like Liam.

Express.co.uk has contacted Liam Payne’s representatives for comment.

He had an acoustic guitar over his shoulder and his other arm around a woman dressed in blue. They were walking through a city scene together.

Liam and Maya started dating in 2018. Some expressed concern because of their seven-year age difference.

Maya was a fan of One Direction and met the boys in 2015 before they took a break. By 2020, Liam and Maya were engaged.

“I learned that the great thing about pain is that it can inspire something beautiful,” Maya said. “Writing has always been my passion, and I journaled about my experiences throughout the pandemic. Eventually, this journal evolved into a novel.”

One fan wrote in the comments section: “Yall there’s no way it’s not at least mainly about Liam like the cover art and the tattoos.”

One person said: “Can we stop talking about Liam and be proud of a woman who is brave enough to share her story, ESPECIALLY with that trigger warning.”

A Twitter user commented: “News flash Liam Payne is probably not the person u think he is, his music sucks and clearly he did not treat Maya well if she’s writing a whole book about it. pull ur heads out of ur a****s please.”

Someone else wrote: “Bro people defending Liam Payne already are weird asf, i’m glad Maya has found a passion and is speaking out about her experience as a 19-year-old dating and being ENGAGED to that grown man.”
