Loose Women’s Denise Welch confirms she’s ‘alive’ after falling victim to ‘death’ prank

iTV star Denise Welch has taken to social media to confirm she’s “alive and well” after vicious rumours appeared online.

The Loose Women star was the victim of a barrage of tweets wrongfully implying she had died on Sunday evening (December 3).

The 65-year-old’s Wikipedia page had also been temporarily changed stating she had died as her name began to trend across social media.

Taking to X on Sunday evening (December 3), Denise updated fans confirming she was fine and was waiting to watch I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!

She wrote in light of her many followers: “I’m alive and well and about to watch the jungle.”

She added: “Thanks for your concern”, followed a string of shocked-face emojis.

Denise’s fans wasted no time in taking to X to show their support following the “awful” prank online.

@jumpedonabus wrote: “Who’s bullying Denise Welch on Wikipedia I will find you.”

@GarethJ68493066 added: “I want to point out that what happened to Denise Welch is awful, however I want to thank everyone for pointing out to me that she has a Wikipedia Account.”

The actress later updated her X with another tweet referring to I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! during the drama-filled episode.

Denise wrote: “Much as letters from home are lovely for the camp, part of the game is not knowing what the outside world is saying/thinking. It changes the dynamic.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
