Lorraine viewers fume ‘What is the point?’ as ITV airs pre-recorded episode

Lorraine fans were left fuming this morning after ITV aired a pre-recorded episode of the chatshow where she looked back at some of her guests throughout the year. During the episode, viewers got to see her interviews with Brian Cox, Hannah Waddingham, Matt Willis and Graham Norton once again.

Fans of the show were left disappointed with the episode and questioned why it was even on if they were just going to show old interviews. They took to their Twitter accounts, formerly known as Twitter, to complain.

User @vanessahodgesd commented: “ITV running pre-recorded or best bits look-back daytime shows.”

Vanessa added: “Lorraine is presenting her own show today, this can only mean one thing:…… it’s pre-recorded. #Lorraine.”

@andipap78 said: “Oh my goodness. Lorraine is hosting… pre-recorded? #Lorraine.”

Kim noted: “What is the point in showing pre-recorded episodes over xmas? Just take the show off the air.”

@carryMethru wrote: “Does Lorraine really have to be on if it’s pre-recorded? Replace it with films or something.” (sic)

As the episode came to an end, Lorraine handed over to Rylan Clark and Emma Willis who were presenting This Morning.

When doing a live show, Lorraine usually stays on the screen and is split with the This Morning team, often having a quick chat with one another.

However, today the screen went straight to a full shot of Rylan and Emma, with Lorraine not having any interaction with the pair.

A pre-recorded episode was also shown on Christmas Day, with the host leaving her guests in hysterics after serving up a very suggestive cocktail.

Joined by Hilary Jones, stylist Mark Heyes, entertainment editor Ria Hebden, and LA correspondent Ross King, she gave each of her guests a ‘Twinkle’ – a cocktail that includes vodka, elderflower liqueur, and champagne.

As they took a sip of their drink, Lorraine quipped: “So, erm. What do you think of my Twinkle?”

Ross joked: “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you twinkle. Or indeed tasted your twinkle. But I’d like to say it looks lovely, and it tastes lovely, too.”

Lorraine took a sip of the drink and said: “That is brilliant. I’m loving it, so we’re all going to go for Twinkles?”

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
