Former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan was horrified when she found a scary intruder on set while reprising her role of nurse Kate in BBC’s Ten Pound Poms. The star, 36, spotted a huge spider dwelling on its web across a window while filming in Australia.
Michelle, who recently starred in Netflix hit Fool Me Once, shared a video of the insect with her 7.3 million Instagram followers, captioned: “My cue to leave,” with a plane emoji. The actress could be heard asking a colleague: “What is that? A Cross did you say? It’s disgusting!”
She then asked her colleague if the spider was poisonous, to which they replied “maybe”, prompting a gasp from a shocked Michelle, who then continued to ask for further details about the insect.
While Michelle films her character’s journey in Australia, her husband Mark Wright has travelled to the country alongside her, where he has been enjoying the weather, sharing Instagram videos of himself and his friends playing golf and tennis.
It comes after Michelle was reportedly left “torn” over whether to stay in the UK with her other half, or making the big move over to Hollywood after her role in Fool Me Once opened doors in the US.
Her performance in the drama is said to have attracted the attention of bosses in Hollywood, and she has been sent multiple scripts for future projects across the pond.
Michelle recently addressed a potential move to the States, telling the Guardian:”I went to America when Mark was out there. Didn’t like it. But let’s see.
“If a job comes up… I guess?” She added: “I’ve never thought beyond what I’m doing right at that moment.
“And I think that’s how I live now as well. I don’t think in terms of goals. I live in the moment.”
Michelle is based in Essex, having spent years renovating her home with husband Mark, but the couple have spent time in a long distance relationship due to their careers.
Discussing her time working in Australia with Ferne Cotton on the Happy Place podcast, the actress shared: “I had like two months alone but then he’d come out and stay with me for six weeks.
“And it’s just having and finding that time for each other. I think that’s the main key, but also letting us have our freedom to do what we wanna do career-wise.”
