Monty Don worries fans in ‘very concerning’ update from Longmeadow before Gardeners’ World

Monty Don left his 1.2 million Instagram followers taken aback as he shared two photos of the current state of Longmeadow, his garden, which features regularly on Gardeners’ World. The land was completely flooded in shocking images posted by the BBC presenter.

The star’s garden, which he shares with wife Sarah Don at their home in Herefordshire, appeared to have transformed into a river due to flooding, with the grass barely visible under the murky water.

Monty captioned the post: “Morning- the Easter tide is high here, miles inland from any sea.” It wasn’t long before the star’s fans rushed to the comments section to share their dismay over the troubling situation.

One Instagram user replied, sharing that they were facing the exact same issue at home: “Here too. Very concerning. climate crisis.” Another asked Monty: “Have you invested in a boat yet or still sloshing about in waders so far? It’s feast or famine with rain these days.”

A third queried: “you have so much water is that normal. ?” Meanwhile, a fourth person shared their sympathies with Monty, writing: “Must be frustrating now- it’s been so long.”

“Is it ever going to stop. So worrying. The ground is sodden everywhere but this at the bottom of your garden,” another concerned fan typed.

Monty previously posted another picture of one of his beloved dogs walking through the flooded area, along with the caption: “Dog walking in the green, green fields of Springtime Herefordshire.”

Earlier this year, the Gardeners’ World presenter faced another deluge at his home due to Storm Henk, which hit the UK in January.

At the time, the Met Office had issued an amber weather warning for wind covering most parts of London, the east and southwest of England, the Midlands and south Wales.

Monty uploaded several photos of his flooded garden, giving fans an insight into the impact of the storm.

One photo showed his pond completely submerged underwater, while another picture was taken showing his garden completely flooded.

This week, Brits have been enduring hail, thunder and heavy rain due to Storm Nelson, with more rain predicted over the Easter weekend.

Gardeners’ World airs tonight at 8pm on BBC Two.
