Outlander: Blood Of My Blood will delve into the backstory of Jamie and Claire Fraser’s families with a new cast set to take centre stage.
Starz announced back in February that production had begun on the 10-episode first season of the Outlander prequel, Blood Of My Blood.
This will be unchartered territory as while the original time travelling drama is based on the Diana Gabaldon books, the new series is not based on any pre-existing material.
It will delve into the lives and relationships of Jamie’s parents Ellen MacKenzie (played by Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) as well as Claire’s parents Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine).
The drama will switch between two parallel lines: one set in the early 18th Century Scottish Highlands and the other in First World War England.
