The Chase fans fume ‘just stop’ as they say the same thing about Bradley Walsh’s ‘habit’

The Chase viewers were left less than impressed by ITV host Bradley Walsh during Thursday’s instalment of the quiz show. When it came to 19-year-old Evie’s cashbuilder, he was blown away by her knowledge.

Taking note of her young age, he asked: “How old are you?! six grand, impressive. Very good.” Although she managed to perform well during the cashbuilder, when it came to facing Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, things took a turn.

Sadly, the 19-year-old was caught, missing out on bringing back £6,000 to the table. However, Bradley couldn’t seem to get past the contestant’s age.

Before she left the studio, he asked: “Do you quiz at uni?” As Evie explained she does a few pub quizzes while studying, Bradley urged her to continue.

He added: “You’re a good player and there is 43 years difference between you and I. I would’ve gone out here middle of the table]. So you’re a good player and I’m sorry to lose you as will the team be but that is the way it goes.”

Although it seemed as though viewers were unhappy with Bradley constantly referring to Evie’s age.

Taking to X, @MeeshyJay commented: “Bradley Walsh and the annoying patronising comments.”

@janwilkins59 tweeted: “Enough with the Ageism!”

@steve_evo said: “Oh Brad just stop.”

@RikLivetweet fumed: “Oh, here we go with the “good for your age” bo*****s.”

One social media user reeled: “Bradley Walsh patronising the young girl”

While another viewer added: “Brad with the patronising age statement.”

Commenting on Evie’s performance, Jenny added: “I think Evie’s got great potential as a quizzer, I agree. She would’ve, potentially, been a great teammate in that final chase.”

In the end, it was Dick, Jenny and Matthew who made it through to the final chase against the Vixen, being given a three-step head start.

With two minutes on the clock, they managed to answer 18 questions correctly, setting a target of 21 for The Vixen to try and beat.

However. they were no feat for Jenny who beat them with seven seconds on the clock.

The Chase continues weekdays on ITV from 5pm.
