Josie Gibson has reportedly been given a huge promotion and pay rise at This Morning following her stint in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2023. The 38-year-old mum of one was part of the jungle class of 2023 alongside Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, former EastEnders star Danielle Harold, former boxer Tony Bellew and politician turned GB News presenter Nigel Farage amongst others.
She became the last woman standing in the ITV reality show and narrowly missed out on a place in the final and now reports claim that her success has led her to secure a “50 per cent pay rise” and have her role bumped up to two days a week. “Josie will get a new role on the show, and be bumped up to two days a week,” a source told The Sun.
The former Big Brother winner made her return to the show yesterday after several weeks off to compete in the jungle show.
Express.co.uk has contacted ITV and representatives for Josie Gibson for comment.
However, her lavish reintroduction to the audience was met with an incredulous reaction from viewers.
After a hugely hyped intro from co-host Craig Doyle, Josie entered the studio wearing a silver sequin pencil skirt, a white fitted jumper and a hat similar to the one she wore in the jungle.
As the crew in the studio cheered, she hugged and kissed her colleagues who were lined up waiting to greet her.
She gave Craig a huge hug and told him she’d missed him before she had to sit down on her very own throne.
Before Josie too her seat, she told him: “I have missed you so much. I wasn’t the winner, but thank you.”
Taking to Twitter, a vewer called Chantel penned: “Can’t take to Josie now after her two-faced behaviour in the jungle. #ThisMorning.”
A second shared: “Well that’s one way to welcome Josie back… #ThisMorning.”
Katie fumed: “Ffs. How over the top is this sh**e. #thismorning?”(sic)
Charlize added: “‘She won over the campmates’ says Craig. Josie didn’t completely win over the viewers in the jungle though, given she finished the show less popular than Farage, Bellew and the brilliant Sam Thompson in the final results. #ThisMorning.”
