A 79-year-old woman suffered a fatal fall in the mountains on Tuesday, August 20, in southern Haute-Garonne, near the Espingo refuge in the commune of Oô.
The road turned into a tragedy. On Tuesday, August 20, a 79-year-old hiker suffered a fatal fall of several tens of meters in the Pyrenees. The accident happened in the middle of the morning, on a path in the city of Ôo.

The victim, who was not from the region, was accompanied by a member of his family at the time of the incident. They were descending the path between Portillon Refuge and Espingo Refuge when the woman slipped.

PGHM intervention
The accident required the intervention of the helicopter from the aerial section of the Tarbes gendarmerie, a doctor from Samu 65 and two rescuers from the Hautes-Pyrénées high mountain gendarmerie platoon (PGHM). According to emergency services, the woman died on the spot.
