A 39-year-old Argentine woman accuses Oscar Jégou and Hugo Auradou, two French rugby players, of aggravated rape. Two versions of the facts collide in this case and certain elements could discredit the plaintiff according to the defense of the players of the XV of France. Among them, messages sent after she left the players' hotel in which she seems happy. The plaintiff just explained this in the Argentine press, saying at the time, “under the influence of tranquilizers.”
“I was under the influence of sedatives and Alprazolam pills and under the influence of alcohol. I do not consider these audios to be true. I am ashamed of this situation, that I reported it in this way, because that is not how I said it “, said the 39-year-old Argentine Diario Uno this Tuesday, September 10.
She refers here to audio messages sent to a friend, shortly after the alleged acts of aggravated rape. We hear him narrating the evening in a cheerful tone, without mentioning any assault or failure to comply with his consent. According to Argentine media, in which the contents of the WhatsApp messages were leaked, the complainant stated: “I met a French rugby player. The guy is super tall. Too handsome, too handsome.” She mentions, however, “little bruises [laissés] on the face, on the jaw, on the bottom” and “the scratches on the back”. When they were broadcast, these messages were perceived by some as elements that could discredit the version of the alleged victim.
“Please don't tell anyone, I'm embarrassed to death.”
Shortly after, the contents of other messages were shared in the press, we see that the tone of the young woman changed, more serious, evokes “abuse”. “So… yes, it was sexual abuse. Because another player came into the room. When I was with him, another came into the room and they raped me. But don't tell anyone, please. I'm ashamed ”, we could read in the columns of Team. Her friend even threw in the word “rape” in one of her replies. “I'm ashamed,” explains Argentina, who wanted to return home as quickly as possible after the incident to find her daughter.
These elements as well as the plaintiff's justification will be studied in the dismissal request issued by the French players' lawyers. This should be studied in the coming days. Originally scheduled for this Thursday, The court's decision should be known next week.
