The Mendoza Post, an Argentinian newspaper that regularly covers the Jégou-Auradou affair, revealed on August 16, 2024, video surveillance of the hotel elevator where the plaintiff meets with a member of France XV staff.
Argentinian newspaper Mendoza Post revealed on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, August 16, 2024, video surveillance images from Hotel Diplomatico in Mendoza. It was in this hotel that the alleged acts of “aggravated gang rape” of which the complainant accuses France XV players Oscar Jégou and Hugo Auradou took place.

The video surveillance camera, located in the elevator, shows the applicant going up and down several floors before a man enters in turn. This is Patrick Arlettaz, Fabien Galthié's assistant and three-quarter coach. They spent about 25 seconds together in that elevator. According to the plaintiff's version, at that precise moment, she was leaving the hotel after the alleged events.
Overheard by Argentine police following this “interview”Patrick Arlettaz stated that he did not “see anything strange” in the complainant's behavior. “She was normal, smiling,” he added. His statements, as well as the study of the video, strengthened him “grey areas” in statements of the complainant, who said she left the hotel in shock. This element probably contributed to the release of both players, although they are required to remain in Argentina. Their lawyer will ask for the case to be dismissed.
