A man “known to the courts” has been identified and is “actively wanted” as a suspect in the shooting death of a municipal employee in Grenoble on Sunday, the Grenoble prosecutor said on Monday.
Lilian Dejean, a 49-year-old municipal agent in charge of cleaning Grenoble town hall, was killed on Sunday while trying to intervene between the perpetrator of a road accident and a passerby, trying to prevent him from escaping. Lilian Dejean died after being hit by two bullets in the chest while on duty this Sunday on Jean-Pain Boulevard.
On Monday, the Grenoble Prosecutor's Office announced that the suspect had been identified, who is believed to be a person known to the justice services.
“A suspect in the assassination of Lilian Dejean has been identified and is being actively sought. Four searches took place yesterday (Sunday) and today (Monday) in places where he is likely to live. The man is known to the judiciary for various crimes,” he indicated the Grenoble prosecutor, Eric Vaillant, confirmed information from Dauphiné Libre.
