essential
Under the influence of alcohol and driving an uninsured vehicle, a man thought it wise to flee a police checkpoint. He was eventually forced to jump into the river to escape the police, to no avail.

On the night of August 18 to 19, a man tried to escape from a police checkpoint. Drunk and driving an uninsured vehicle, the man was speeding when the police tried to arrest him. He then decides not to submit to the inspection but, unfortunately for him, he does not know Périgueux well. Immediately, he finds himself caught in a dead end. He therefore decides to abandon his vehicle and continue his escape on foot. But he finds himself trapped again, this time between the Island, a river and the police hot on his heels.

He doesn't hesitate for a second before jumping into the water. No luck, reinforcements await him on the other side. Finally he is arrested, soaked. He initially refuses to blow into the breathalyzer, then finally submits. Verdict, one gram of alcohol in the blood, well over the legal limit for driving. This is not his first refusal to comply and he will be on trial by the end of the year.
