Around Jain, Francis Cabrel and MC Solaar, more than 25,000 festival-goers set foot on the MEETT tarmac for the first night of the Rose Festival. Spectators, mostly young, and mainly from the Toulouse area.
From its name, the Rose Festival sounds very local. “It reminds me of the color of our beautiful bricks,” confirms Mickaël, from Toulouse, who came with his sister, Déborah, who never misses an edition. “Events like this in Toulouse don't happen every four mornings,” she adds. Like them, three quarters of the festival goers come from the Pink City. “It's the best city,” say Jao and Yoann, who had already come in previous years. “We are proud to have such great artists here.” The same observation for Vincent, another resident of Toulouse, met on the replica of Saint-Pierre Square at the festival: “It's our heritage, all year, we've been waiting for it.”

Other festivalgoers, less frequent, traveled the following road. This is the case for Julie, who drove for two hours. “We come from Bayonne, I really wanted to come for Francis before this, I never got to see him. She and her four friends have rented an Airbnb for the evening and are hitting the road again this Friday.
For his part, Clément took the train from Paris. Attracted by the “daring” part, he took a pass for the four days. “It's an opportunity to see my friend from Toulouse, but also this unlikely lineup, from Nina Kravitz to Booba, worlds that don't usually connect.”

Alice also comes from Paris and joins her friends in the area. “Basically, I'm from the region, so I can hang out with my friends who are still here, not knowing anyone, it might be more difficult,” she explains.
The absence of camping can be a barrier to the arrival of festivals from the four corners of France. “It's good to have different festivals too, without camping, to promote a more mellow and chilled atmosphere, there's a really good thing about it, which I love.”
