All eyes are on Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry are yet to comment on the ongoing furore following the publication of Omid Scobie’s controversial book “Endgame”. The publication has sparked outrage in the UK after the Dutch version erroneously published the name of two “royal racists” who allegedly questioned the skin colour of hers and Prince Harry’s first child, Prince Archie Harrison.
While they haven’t commented, the Duchess was photographed smiling as she stepped out in Santa Barbara on Monday, December 4, and wearing a baseball cap. She appeared relatively carefree while out on the town, a few miles away from hers and Prince Harry’s Montecito home dressed down in a black long-sleeved shirt and leggings, trainers and a pair of sunglasses.
The book prompted a firestorm in the UK following its November 8 publication, after the Dutch language versions of the book named the two royals who allegedly raised “concerns” about Prince Archie’s skin colour while the Duchess was pregnant. She had first made the allegations in 2021 during an interview with legendary talkshow host Oprah Winfrey.
At the time, she said there were conversations within Buckingham Palace about “how dark” his “skin might be when he is born”. But they had long resisted naming the people involved, with an earlier book, Finding Freedom by Mr Scobie and Carolyn Durand, stating the couple had “considered sharing this detail” but ultimately decided against doing so.
