Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry ‘will put the past aside’ after King Charles visit

Prince Harry will hopefully “have put aside the past” when he met with his father King Charles, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, a royal expert has said. The Duke arrived at Clarence House on Tuesday evening to be at King Charles’s side following his shock cancer diagnosis.

The Duke of Sussex had not seen the King since the Coronation in May last year despite making two trips home since then in June and September. Even during the Coronation weekend, it is understood there was no time for them to have a proper face-to-face meeting.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes the Duke will not have dwelled on the family’s disagreements and will now be focused purely on his father’s health, Mail Online reports.

He said: “I’m sure Harry will put aside the past right now for this serious issue. It’s so important that everyone is pulling in the right direction.”

King Charles, aged 75, was observed traveling in the State Bentley alongside Queen Camilla from Clarence House down The Mall to Buckingham Palace after a 45-minute meeting with Prince Harry.

Subsequently, a helicopter was spotted departing the Palace, presumably with King Charles aboard, before later landing at Sandringham, Norfolk, where the King will be situated during his cancer treatment.

Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that the monarch has been diagnosed with cancer. The announcement came 10 days after he was treated for a benign enlarged prostate. He was given the cancer news having undergone subsequent tests while he was receiving the treatment at The London Clinic. It is not connected with his recent surgery and it is not prostate cancer, the Palace has said.
