Storm Pierrick will take Storm Kathleen’s ravaging winds and propel them cross-country within hours, meteorologists have predicted. The next named storm, officially named by Meteo France, is on course to make landfall by tomorrow (April 10).
The Met Office says: “An area of low pressure bringing gales to some of the coastal waters this afternoon clears away eastwards into the North Sea. A transient ridge of high pressure then builds behind causing conditions to settle and winds to ease.
“A frontal system then arrives on Wednesday bringing strong southwesterly winds and widespread rain across the United Kingdom.”
