The civilian plane Fouga Magister crashed into the sea on August 16 at around 5 pm off the coast of Lavandou in front of a large audience, with the pilot trapped in the cockpit. According to Bruno Clermont, a member of the Center for Advanced Military Studies, the victim is Didier Berger, 65, a former fighter pilot who bought this aircraft about thirty years ago.
The investigation was entrusted to the research section of the Air Transport Gendarmerie. This was to recover the wreckage of the aircraft for analysis and examination, to determine possible mechanical failure and also to carry out the forensic examination to see if the pilot had made you sick.
A security investigation was also opened by the Bureau of Investigation and Analysis.
