He speaks for the first time and supports his son. This Sunday, September 8, the former second line of the XV of France David Auradou, aged 50 and current coach of Suresnes (3rd division), spoke on the show Sept à Huit on TF1 about the adventure that it particularly affects his son, Hugo. .
The latter, as well as his Blues teammate, Oscar Jegou, is charged with aggravated rape, accused by a 39-year-old Argentinian woman. The alleged acts took place last July in Mendoza, following a meeting of the French team.
“In the deepest conviction, I know that my son is innocent, because he is my son”, David Auradou proclaims on TF1, in the comments transmitted especially by Rugbyrama. He has one primary quality, which is that he never lies. If he had been an idiot, he wouldn't have been as convincing.”

David Auradou then describes and relates the words of his son, in one of the most difficult moments in the file that concerns him: his indictment. “He's on the verge of tears, but he's staying strong. He doesn't understand, he's in disbelief. He's telling me: 'Daddy, daddy, daddy, believe me. Everything you hear, everything we say, it's not wrong for me.' “In as for me, from that moment I took him at his word, and I am deeply convinced of his innocence.”
And David Auradou continued: “I don't want any family to experience what we experienced. There are no words for accusing your child of such a serious crime. […] “I just hope that when my son starts his family, his name will not be associated with this adventure. I hope that on the street, when he walks, people will recognize him because he is a football player. Rugby at a high level.”

On Wednesday, September 4, Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou left Argentina to arrive in France. Their lawyers have submitted a request to close the case which must be studied in the coming days by the Argentine courts.
