A 91-year-old resident of a nursing home in the suburbs of Toulouse dreamed of skydiving. A soldier from Muret agreed to jump in tandem with the nonagenarian. Placida enjoyed this experience.

A resident of the Curtis residence in Léguevin (Haute-Garonne) accomplished a crazy feat this summer, under the eyes of nursing home professionals and her family members: a parachute jump. In the middle of summer, the delegation went to Agen. “It was complicated to organize, because few people wanted to take care of Placida's jump,” confesses Wilmar Filliatre, the residence's activities coordinator. Until a certain Christophe Danjou, a soldier with the 3rd RMAT at Muret, accepted the “mission”.

The nonagenarian was calm and determined throughout: “I was never afraid, the desire to jump was stronger. If I had to do it again, I would gladly do it again.” Under the gaze of many onlookers, Léguevinoise remembers descending at over 200 km/h for almost 4000 meters, including 2000 free fall, “I was able to enjoy the view during the jump, it was magnificent.” Her friends, her family, including her 5-year-old great-grandson, were so proud of her.

A few weeks later, she wants to thank everyone again, “including the professionals at Curtis Residence who made this long-overdue dream come true, which comes from my passion to see many skydivers throughout my life.” Finally, he recounts for the anecdote that he jumped from this small plane with young people, all equally amazed by the enthusiasm of a senior who was definitely not like the others.
