Pan frying is the most traditional way to make scrambled eggs and omelettes but it’s not always the most successful.
The liquid mixture can quickly turn too solid and leave the end result without that fluffy core that omelettes are known for.
That said, one home-cook-turned-food blogger has claimed to have found the perfect solution in the form of an air fryer.
Sharing her recipe on the blog Melanie Cooks, Melanie Mendelson said: “This omelette is a breeze to make.
“The best part is, you don’t even need to flip an omelette when you cook it in the air fryer!”
Ingredients
For one serving:
- Two eggs
- Two tablespoons of milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- One-quarter of a cup of grated cheese
While the recipe couldn’t be more simple, it won’t work without a small pan that fits inside the air fryer basket, so make sure to find one first.
Air fryer omelette recipe
Spray the pan with some cooking spray to prevent the omelette from sticking, or brush with a few drops of oil.
Place the pan inside the air fryer and before moving onto preparing the ingredients for the omelette.
To do this, crack the eggs into a mixing bowl and add the milk.
Stir these together really well while simultaneously adding in the cheese, then, once combined, pour this mixture into the oiled pan.
Ensure the mixture is evenly spread out to cover the whole pan, then leave to cook at 190C for six minutes.
After this time, carefully remove the pan from the air fryer basket and allow it to cool for a minute as it will be very hot.
Seasoning should be the last thing that’s added once the omelette is cooked to avoid drying out the fluffy egg mixture.
