A 2-year-old boy died after being hit while running out of a restaurant on Avenida Santos Dumont, in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo, this Saturday (28). The incident was recorded on the location's security camera.
The accident occurred at around 11.00, when the father reported that his son let go of his hand inside the restaurant and ran into the street and was hit by a vehicle.
The images show the boy walking through the restaurant before running through the door onto the street. Several people, both inside the building and on the sidewalk, ran to try to help him.
According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the boy was taken to the Vicente de Carvalho emergency room, where he underwent resuscitation, but did not survive his injuries. His death was confirmed shortly afterward.
“The incident was recorded as homicide while driving a motor vehicle at the local police station, which requested inspection of the vehicle,” the SSP said in its note.
