2024 Skoda Karoq gets cheaper new entry point

Skoda has introduced a new entry-level version of its Karoq SUV, joining the existing Style and Sportline variants in the line-up.

Dubbed simply the Skoda Karoq, this new entry-level variant is available to order now priced from $39,990 before on-road costs, or $39,990 drive-away.

Comparative drive-away pricing for Victorian buyers (each state has different taxes) pits the Karoq head-to-head with the Kia Sportage S automatic ($39,302 D/A), Hyundai Tucson ($39,329 D/A), and Mazda CX-5 Maxx ($39,990 D/A).

The Skoda Karoq is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque. This is mated to an eight-speed torque-converter automatic, with drive sent to the front wheels only.

Skoda claims the Karoq with the 1.4-litre engine has a combined cycle fuel consumption of 6.5 litres per 100km according to ADR testing.

  • Automatic LED headlights
  • Fog lights
  • Rear dynamic indicators

There are only two optional extras available on the Skoda Karoq. These include metallic paint which costs $770 and a seven-year/105,000km service pack which costs $2750.

You’re still able to step up to the Karoq Style, which is currently priced from $45,490 drive-away and adds the following:

  • Hands-free power tailgate
  • Privacy glass
  • 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
  • DAB+ digital radio
