A joint action by the Police Office for the Suppression of Crimes against Intangible Property (DRCPIM) and the Public Prosecutor's Office resulted in the seizure of two tonnes of counterfeit goods bearing the music festival's brand. Rock in Riowhich took place in the city. The seizure took place this Thursday (19), in downtown Rio.
In the action, four suspects who were responsible for the shop where the product was located were finally arrested. They will respond for selling counterfeit materials [falsificação ou réplica do produto original]displaying the brand illegally.
The confiscated items included thousands of glasses, t-shirts, hats and peci caps that were to be distributed to street vendors to be resold in the second week of the event. The materials were obtained through intelligence information, which continued the action that began in the first week of the festival.
Piracy
Last week, two actions resulted in the seizure of a large number of counterfeit goods. The police office specializing in the suppression of Crimes Against Intangible Property, together with Rio's parliamentarians and prosecutors of the Specialized Criminal Court (Jecrim), found more than 5,300 glasses, 185 fake hats and thousands of cup holders on the first day of the event, the 13th of this month. Two men were caught red-handed, in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio.
The next day, in an operation near Rock in RioThe team found a truck with thousands of fake cups and cup holders bearing the festival's branding. Credit card machines and fake credentials were also seized.
So far, the action has confiscated more than 15 thousand items and arrested 10 suspects.
