América Femenil wins and is still alive in Concachampions

Mexico City.- América Femenil did the job by beating Panamanian club Santa Fe 5-0 and now the qualifiers for the Concachampions Semifinals will be played on October 16 at the home of the San Diego Wave.

The Eagles are leaders of Group B, with 6 points, the same number as San Diego (with one game less) and three points ahead of Portland and Vancouver, but also with one game in hand.

On the 4th, the azulcrema rested. So in October they will duel to kill or be killed, against the rival they had beaten 2-0 in the Summer Cup. For now, today at the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium the team won by a landslide. There were five and maybe ten, but goalkeeper Yenith Bailey had a great night winning several head-to-head matches, whether against Kiana Palacios, Sarah Luebbert, Nancy Antonio or Nicky Hernández.

América opened the scoring in the 27th minute through a cross from right-back Karen Luna. In the 43rd minute, Sarah Luebbert took advantage of her big stride and scored with her left foot, before the goalkeeper came out.

Kiana Palacios scored the third and fourth goals, in the 52nd and 57th minutes, both thanks to great assists from Karen Luna. In the 70th minute, the Panamanian goalkeeper won another one-on-one, this time against Aylín Aviléz, but Rebekah Valdez took advantage of the rebound and scored the fifth. América Femenil recently beat Chivas 7-0 and previously beat Mazatlán 8-1. Today she was beaten again and Scarlett Camberos was injured in the warm-up.
