The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has asked the judge of the National Court investigating the 'Koldo case' to summon the current Deputy Minister of Transport, Jesús Manuel Gómez García, the General Director of Human Resources Management of ADIF, Michaux Miranda, and the former Secretary- General of State Ports, Álvaro Sánchez Manzanares.
In a letter to which Europa Press has had access, the Public Prosecutor's Office requests this explanation, assuring that the report recently provided by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard “appears that they could have exerted certain pressure on the people responsible for “the entities that had to award the contracts for the supply of masks.”
All this, the prosecutor emphasizes, “without allowing or giving rise to the possibility of examining other offers or budgets, taking it for granted and without any possibility of refuting the final award decision, that the final winner would be Management Solutions. “The main company investigated in the case.
“In principle, such behavior could, without prejudice to further considerations, fit within the contours of the crime of influence peddling. Therefore, in order to ensure the full effectiveness of the right of defense and to prevent material situations of defenselessness from arising against them, it is deemed appropriate that their statements be considered investigated,” Anti-Corruption added.

In addition, the Public Prosecution also asks Judge Ismael Moreno for the testimony of the former president of Adif, Isabel Pardo de Vera, as witnesses; Francisco Toledo Lobo, President of State Ports between March 2020 and December 2021; Aránzazu de Miguel Peña, Head of the Contracts and Risk Management Department of State Ports and María Belén Caballero Martínez, Head of the Contracts Department attached to the General Secretariat of State Ports.
