Today, Thursday, marks the tenth anniversary of the disappearance of 43 normal students from Ayotzinapa, a case that Andrés Manuel López Obrador promised to solve at the start of his six-year term.
Days after completing his mandate, AMLO acknowledged that there had been progress, but “not as we would have liked.” He also responded to accusations by the lawyers of 43’s parents and the Pro Center.
“The parents’ lawyer and ProDH said that the Army commanders were not paying attention to me and that the Army was in control, and even though I had good intentions, I could not force them to tell the truth.
“I tell you that I am a man of principle. Regardless of me being the TNI Commander and what is done is written, giving instructions, orders, well I do not play around,” he explained.
