Bolton Food and Drink Festival News

Work is currently underway to ensure that as much of the festival site as possible can open on Saturday morning.

Gazebos, tents and other event infrastructure were severely damaged or significantly displaced overnight and early Friday morning.

This will require a major clean-up operation before the site is safe for the public and our traders.

As with all major council events, contingency plans have been developed to deal with adverse weather conditions.

Unfortunately, local gusts of wind in the city centre turned out to be much stronger than predicted.

We apologize to the public, market vendors, artists and sponsors for any inconvenience caused.

We have not made the decision to postpone lightly, but the safety and well-being of all festival participants is always our top priority.

The Bolton Food and Drink Festival has a well-deserved reputation as one of the largest and best organised events of its kind in the country.

We hope the public will come out this holiday weekend to support our many outstanding local merchants, artists and performers.

Visitors can enjoy live music, free cooking classes, paid events, celebrity appearances and free family fun on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Please follow the festival website and its social media channels.
